From August 17 to 23, 2026, the International Body Music Festival will take place in Québec City, Canada.
For seven days, the International Body Music Festival Quebec 2026 offers a complete immersion into the world of body music, featuring a strong presence of Quebecois and Indigenous traditions, in dialogue with rhythmic expressions from around the globe.
The festival’s program is designed to welcome both curious newcomers and professional artists. Workshops for all ages and abilities, performances, screenings, open mic sessions, a traditional Québecois dance night, and collaborations between Québec and international artists, invite participants to experience rhythm from within and discover practices deeply rooted in the territory.
The International Body Music Festival Quebec 2026 is a living space of connection, where the body becomes an instrument, rhythm builds bonds, and collective energy gives rise to a profoundly human and unifying experience.

Les Malchaussées is a percussive dance company founded in 2014 in Québec City. Innovative and community-driven, the company specializes in the meeting point of body percussion, gumboot, contemporary dance, theatre, and music. Through performances, outreach activities, and workshops, Les Malchaussées create accessible artistic experiences that place rhythm and movement at the heart of human connection. Their mission is to highlight percussive dance and body music as a way to bring people together, inspire creativity, and encourage shared experiences across all audiences. Participation lies at the core of their approach: audiences are invited to feel and experience rhythm through their own bodies, within an inclusive and unifying framework. After taking part in three editions of the International Body Music Festival, the company is proud to host this major event in the City of Québec, in collaboration with Playground for the arts and Crosspulse, continuing to promote this contemporary discipline locally and internationally. The International Body Music Festival has become the epicenter for the global body music community, sustaining a strong and evolving presence over the decades by bringing together leading artists from around the world. Through its commitment to artistic excellence, exchange, and innovation, the Festival continues to shape and expand the field of body music.
In 2026, more than 50 artists from Québec, across Canada, and internationally will engage and inspire audiences, presenting a rich range of traditional and contemporary works dedicated to body music. This diverse group of performers reflects the depth, vitality, and global reach of the body music scene today, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience the art form through multiple cultural and artistic perspectives.

All festivities will take place in Québec City in the St-Roch and Limoilou neighborhoods. The selected venues are located within close proximity, providing easy access to explore these vibrant areas of Québec City.
